Situated on the east of Madagascar, Republic of Mauritius is one of the mountainous islands in the Indian Ocean. Agalega, Rodrigues and St Brandon islands are the islands which come under the territory of Mauritius. Republic of Mauritius has remained unknown for a long period of time. Its initial visitors are believed to be the Arab sailors during the 10th century. Since then there were several sailors who invade this little island but in the year 1968 it achieved independence. Later in the year 1992 it became member of commonwealth. Republic of Mauritius is divided into 9 districts which include Black River, Savanne, Riviere du Rempart, Flacq, Grand Port, Moka, Pamplemousses, Plaines Wilhems and Port Louis the capital of Mauritius. This island has a variation in climatic conditions as temperature of this coastal area varies from 22 degree centigrade in winter to 34 degree centigrade in summer. During the month of August the maximum temperature goes to 19 degrees while it is 26 degrees in the month of February.
Republic of Mauritius has a multinational culture and the co-existence among the Mauritian people include Africans, Chinese, Indians and European origin.
