Greece

Greece is a country located in Southeast of Europe, officially known as the Hellenic Republic shares borders to the north of Albania and Bulgaria, east of Turkey, and west of Ionian Sea. The capital city is Athens. The population is 11,170,957 with a total land area of 131,990 sq. km. Greece consists of mountains and hills and the 10th longest coastline with 14,880 km in the world lies in Greece. The climatic condition can be described in three particular type’s i.e. the Alpine (in the hilly region of northwest Greece), the Mediterranean (in the Cyclades, eastern parts of Peloponnesus) and the Temperate (in Central and east Macedonia). The average rainfall ranges about 16 inches annually.

Greek culture has influenced from the Roman Empire and Greek Eastern. National game is football and Greek Super League is the professional league in the country. Greece is also famous for basketball and national team is one of the well known and best in world. Greek people celebrate their major festival Pascha. Greek is the commonly used language.

Greece follows a capitalist economy which produces $305.595 billion of GDP in the year 2006. The major activities of economy include banking and finance, tourism, construction of telecommunication goods, shipping industries. The fastest growing unit is service industry. Foreign exchange earning comes from tourism and contributes 15% in Greece total GDP.
