Monaco

Monaco is a country in Western Europe that is situated between France and the Mediterranean Sea. It is one of the 6 microstates of Europe. It is the second smallest independent nation of the world and the most densely populated country. It is also the smallest French speaking polity in the world. Monaco city is the capital of the country and French is the official language.

The official religion of Monaco is Roman Catholicism. Monaco has 5 Roman Catholic Parish churches and a cathedral that is resided by the archbishop. There is also an Anglican church. The music of the country was developed under the Grimaldi family which ruled the state for long. In 1863 was formed the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra which s a permanent home in Garnier Palace since 1879. This orchestra has earned good repute in the classical field of music. A Children’s choir was founded here in 1973 and has been named as the Little Singers of Monaco.

Tourism is the main source of economy of Monaco. The casino and the pleasant climate of the country attract a lot of tourists every year. Biothermic and cosmetic industries are also an important part of the economy of Monaco. The country is a tax haven and most of the inhabitants are millionaires. The state has monopolies in various sectors like postal services and tobacco.
