Ukraine is a country that was once the epicenter of East Salvic civilization. The country is steeped in rich cultural heritage and a historical past. Ukraine is located in the in the eastern part of Europe bordered by the Black Sea in the south, Romania, Hungary Slovakia in the west , Poland in the west and Belarus in the north. The country features a landscape that is criss-crossed by numerous small streams and rivers. All the rivers in Ukraine drain either into Sea of Azov or the Black Sea. Many portion of the land is flat plains without even a single tree around.
Ukraine is a country that is heavily influenced by Christianity, which is apparently the pre dominant religion in the country. The culture is a steady mix of fragments borrowed forms its eastern and western neighbors. Communism had had a strong influence on the art and writing of Ukraine. The eater egg was born in Ukraine and strangely the tradition precedes the history of Christianity. “Capella” is a traditional music performed by a single singer with backing choruses. Songs are usually accompanied by an instrument called “Bandura”.
Ukraine is ranked 28th in the world in terms of GDP( ppp). Despite a political turmoil in recent times the economy of the country continues to prosper. Ukraine’s economy is primarily driven by the agriculture and mining industry. The country exports various types of metal such as steel and it’s by products. The natural minerals found are mercury, iron ore, sulphur, coal and kaolin.
