Cuba

Cuba is a rich, large and beautiful island of length 766 miles. Cuba is situated in the northern part of Caribbean and at the meeting points of the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. It is surrounded by eastern United States to the south, Turks and Caicos Islands to the west, and Mexico to the east of it. It is one of the mostly populated countries of Caribbean. The capital is Havana located at 23 degree 8 of North and 82 degree 23 of West. The climate is tropical as it is moderated by the waters. Cuba is prone to hurricanes because the warm temperatures of sea and the location of Cuba cross the Gulf of Mexico.

The culture of Cuba is actually influenced by the people of Spain and Africa. Official language spoken is Spanish. The total population estimated is 11,382,820. Catholicism is the professed faith in religion. Sport is one of most passion among Cubans. Baseball and amateur boxing is the popular sports participated by the Cubans in international games and achieved high gold medals. Cuban music is also rich and famous in the world. It includes salsa, mambo and rumba.

The means of production are run and owned by the government. The employment rate in public sector was 78%, private sector 22% in the year 2006. Capital investment restricted and requires proper approval by government. Cuba is the world’s famous sugar exporter and producer.
