Panama

In 18th century Panama was a part of Colombia and it regained its independence on 3rd November 1903 and today it is the Republic of Panama. The nation is located in the southern regions central America. The republic of Panama is bordered by the Caribbean sea to the north and North Pacific Ocean to the south, towards the southeastern region is the Colombia and the northwestern is covered by Costa Rica. The surface of Panama is largely covered by highlands, hills, mountain ranges and plateaus. The coastal regions also make up a considerable portion of the nation. Panama is the bridge between the large gap between north and south America. The climate is usually tropical in Panama as the weather is hot and wet throughout the year.

The estimate population in 2006 was nearly 3,242,173 from which there are a number of ethnic groups in Panama. The Mestizo make up the maximum population apart from white, West Indies and Ameridian and mixed. Though the official language of the nation is Spanish Panamanians also speak English. Panama is a house for diverse cultures as there are six Indian cultures in Panama. The famous culture in the country is Folklores apart from various dances that are adopted from different races. Most of the people in Panama follow the Roman Catholic religion whereas there are also people who follow Islamic, Buddhist, Baha’i, Jewesh and protestant religion.
