Situated in the Caribbean Sea on the northeast side, Saint Martin is an island in tropical region. The island with area of about 87 sq. km, is roughly divided between Netherland and France. The southern part of Saint Martin belongs to Netherland Antilles. The northern part of the island belongs to France. Each side has principal towns namely Marigot on the French side and Phillipsburg on the Dutch side. The population on the total island is around 85000. The island is covered with exotic tropical forests.

Princess Juliana international Airport is the principal terminal on the island. On the northern side of the island, Grand Case Airport is present.
