United States

United States of America comprises of fifty states and one federal district. The country lies in the central part of North America and is bounded by Canada in the north and Mexico in the south. It lies between the Atlantic Ocean in the east and the Pacific Ocean on the west. The state of Alaska is towards the West of Canada and is not within the mainland of the country. The state of Hawaii is in the middle of Pacific Ocean on the western part of the country. There are fourteen insular islands that are strewn along the Caribbean Islands. The population of the country is more than 300million with a density of 31 persons per sq. km. The country was independent on the 4th of July 1783.

The country has a diverse culture and is homer to numerous tradition, values and ethnic groups. The culture of the country is mainly derived from Western Europe from the Dutch and the English travelers. Irish, Scottish and German cultures also play a very important role in the culture of the country.

The economy of the country is capitalist and mixed. There are abundant natural resources in the country with high productivity and developed infrastructure. The GDP of the country is more than 13trillion that is about 20% of the world economy. The major countries that trade with United States are Germany, Canada, Japan, China and Mexico. The main items of export are electronic items and the major items of import are vehicles.
