American Samoa is a nonintegrated territory of United States situated in the South Pacific Ocean to the southeast of Samoa sovereign state. It is a part of the Samoan Islands located near to the west of Cook Islands, south of Tokelau and north of Tonga. According to 2000 census, the total population of this region was 57,291 and the total area of this territory is 200.22 km2. However, such status is conferred only on people, who are born in the nearby districts of Swain Island and American Samoa, but not to those persons born in incorporated island.
