Guyana

Guyana is on the mainland of South America and is culturally more similar to the Caribbean than the Latin American. It is the only English speaking country in South America and one of the non Spanish speaking countries in the continent. Guyana is located on the Atlantic Ocean and is bordered by Suriname in the east and Venezuela in the west.

Guyana has some sightseeing places like Kaieteur National park, Kaieteur Falls, Shell Beach and Historic Georgetown. The popular landmarks include St. Georges Anglican Cathedral, Demerara Harbour Bridge, Caribbean community building, Providence stadium, Guyana International conference center, Stabroek market and the City hall. The three important events which are celebrated here include Mashramani, Deepavali and Phagwah.

Guyana participates in International cricket as a part of the West Indies cricket team and is a member of CONCACAF. Even though the crime rate is high there is expansion in the agricultural and mining sectors and many industries have foreign investments especially the mineral industry. Guyana is popular for its agriculture producing rice and sugar and its other activities include gold mining, shrimp fishing, bauxite mining, and the mineral industry. Major Private Sectors include the Private Sector Commission and the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
