History

The Earth when it was very young was quite different from what we know it to be today. There wasn’t any oxygen in the whole atmosphere and no oceans were there. Earth came into being due to a planetoid bombardment while the solar system was created. A lot of heat was generated due to this. The radio active elements broke down and generated some heat.

There was heat due to the contraction of materials and some heat that was prevalent. As a result of this great heat, the heavy materials found their way to the centre while the lighter ones moved up to the surface. Thus the surface of the earth was made. The heavy materials formed the core. This created earth’s magnetic field. From the nebula of the earth, materials made up the earthy atmosphere. The gravitational pull held back the water and the atmosphere along with it. Gradually there was a cooling and temperature decreased. The crust of the earth was solid and on it the melted areas showed impacts. With gradual cooling down of the earth, the accumulation of rain water formed the oceans. This had happened millions and millions of years ago. Gradually, earth began to get populated with the most important thing “life”.
