The International Space Station shortly known as ISS was set up by the space scientists and space engineers with a view to carry on space research and space excavations. It was built with the collaboration of USA, Japan, Russia, Canada and many other countries.
The International Space Station designing and configuration is still on process and is expected to be completed by 2010. It should have all the required technologies to carry on space studies and space communications.
With an approximate mass of 232,693 Kilograms and a living volume of 424.75 cubic meters the International Space Station is stationed at an orbit nearer to the Earth. To enable living conditions inside the ISS improved respiratory filters are being used to circulate O2 and CO2. The solar cells and solar power preservers provides the main power to the ISS by incorporating the solar power.
Space crew began to live at the International Space Station from the 2000 onwards. At present operations are being carried to conduct various experiments and researches here. In the future the International Space Station will be a hub to investigate of meteorology, cosmology, astronomy, space physics etc. Many space tourists from different countries are now visiting the ISS.
