Space Shuttles
Space shuttles are spacecrafts that are used by astronauts to travel from Earth to a space station. However a Space Shuttle is also used to launch different satellites in to the space.
Space shuttles are provided with wings so that they can swiftly glide through the atmosphere and reach the destination. They can be used again after they return to Earth. In fact space shuttles are much in used by various space stations situated worldwide. They can be employed to detect and restore satellites which are found to malfunction in the space.
Today space shuttles are heavily in used for the constructional work of the International Space Station in the space. NASA also sends space shuttles to launch weather satellites to monitor weather conditions of the Earth. Today the US military are also using space shuttles for their various defensive functions.
The first space shuttle was launched by NASA in the year 1961. From then onwards RKA of Russia and JAXA of Japan carried similar space shuttle missions. Space shuttles are controlled by immensely advanced remote controlled operators from the Space centers of the Earth. Their main purpose is to direct the space shuttle throughout the atmosphere and the space and put it into an orbit.
