Comets

Comets are small bodies, which are found in the solar system, and which revolves around the sun and often forms an atmospheric material called coma, which actually is born from the nucleus of the hard rocky, icy and dusty body of the comet itself. Comets are revolving bodies, which constantly revolves around the sun or other planets, or heavenly body. When they near the planet their activities increases. Comets comes in to close vicinity with the sun they either get destroyed or they are thrown out of the solar system forever for the due course.

Historically comets were often a source of superstition. People thought comets to be attack on human civilization by the heavenly forces and hence considered them unlucky. It was discovered and stated as a astronomical body late in the 16th century. Though reference of comets are found in various books such as book of revelation or the book of Enoch. This book referred it as “falling stars”. Even Aristotle identified comets in his first book meteorology.

Comets can be identified or discovered by binoculars or telescope. They are often identified when they are orbiting around the sun. but pictures of comets are now taken through satellites.
