While death usually means that the person has discontinued his earthly existence, there are ways and means to ensure that some part of him/her still lives on our planet. One such method, which serves the dual purpose of preserving the memory of the dead person as well as giving a new lease of life to another person, is organ donation.
There are millions of people who wait patiently for organ transplants everyday in hospitals on this planet. Demand far exceeds supply, which means that there is a fair waiting period. Organs that can be donated for the purpose of transplantation include the heart, liver, kidney, pancreas etc. Pledging one's eyes to somebody else after death can bring colour in the life of a person who has only seen the world in one colour-black. Several celebrities have appeared in programmes exhorting people to pledge their organs after death. Organs can also be given up to research institutes and hospitals in order to give interns practical experience.
Another issue which rears its head after the passing away of an individual is the execution of his will. If the individual was a wealthy person, there will be many people claiming right to his property and wealth, citing various reasons, some of which are downright ridiculous. Sadly, most of these people would have never even bothered to see the person when he was alive and kicking. It definitely helps if the will is precise and leaves no room for speculation. There are various information sources on the internet which talk at length about wills.
